Frequently Asked Questions

What is matchmaking?

Matchmaking is a highly personalized alternative to dating apps. Instead of spending hours swiping, messaging, and going on dates that aren't aligned with what you're looking for, my team and I get to know you, understand what you truly want in a partner, and actively search for people we believe could be a strong fit.

This isn't about sending you a catalog of singles. It's about thoughtful introductions, honest feedback, and having someone in your corner who understands dating and relationships and can see things you may not always be able to see yourself.

How is your matchmaking service different from dating apps?

Dating apps give you access. Matchmaking gives you curation, strategy, accountability, and feedback.

We aren't simply looking for someone who checks every box on a list. We look at attraction, values, lifestyle, relationship goals, emotional readiness, and the intangible qualities that make two people work together.

You also have a matchmaker helping you throughout the process. We learn from your dates, identify patterns, adjust when necessary, and help you date more intentionally.

Who do you work with?

I work with successful, relationship-minded men and women who are serious about finding a long-term partner.

My clients are typically people who have built full lives and careers but haven't found the right person to share them with. Many are busy professionals, executives, entrepreneurs, or individuals who simply don't want to leave one of the most important decisions of their lives entirely up to an algorithm.

The most successful clients come into the process open-minded, self-aware, coachable, and genuinely ready for a relationship.

Do I need to live in New York City?

No. While I am based in New York City and have an extensive network here, we can conduct searches in other cities and locations depending on the client and their preferences. Our personalized recruiting abilities give us access to people anywhere in the world.

Where do you find matches?

Everywhere.

Our private network and database are an important part of the process, but we don't limit ourselves to people already in our network. We actively recruit and source potential matches through referrals, personal and professional networks, social media, events, and targeted outreach.

If we believe the right person for you isn't already in our network, we go looking for them.

Can I see your database before becoming a client?

No. Privacy and confidentiality are extremely important to us, so we do not provide access to our database or share profiles of our members publicly.

The same discretion we provide to the people in our network is the discretion you can expect if you become part of it.

Do both men and women pay for matchmaking?

We work with paying matchmaking clients as well as individuals in our network who may be considered for introductions to our clients.

Being part of our network does not guarantee an introduction. We only reach out when we believe there may be genuine compatibility with one of our clients.

How does the matchmaking process work?

We begin with a consultation to learn about you, your dating history, your relationship goals, your lifestyle, and what you're looking for in a partner.

If we decide to work together, we develop your search criteria and begin sourcing potential matches. Before making an introduction, we speak with both people and determine whether there is mutual interest. Clients have full control of the matchmaking process and can choose who they would like to meet and who they would like to pass on without any penalties.

After dates, we gather feedback from both sides. That feedback is an important part of the process because it helps us continually refine the search, and it can also help you better understand how you're showing up in dating.

How many matches will I receive?

That depends on the matchmaking package and the specificity of your search.

I care much more about introducing you to people who make sense than hitting an arbitrary number of introductions. Matchmaking is not a volume business. The goal isn't to go on as many dates as possible. The goal is to meet the right person.

How long does matchmaking take?

There is no universal timeline for finding a life partner.

Some clients meet someone very quickly. Others require more time, particularly when their criteria are highly specific, or their dating pool is smaller.

Finding someone you could potentially spend the rest of your life with is not something I believe should be rushed simply to meet a deadline. Clients will choose a contract for three, six, or twelve months.

Do you guarantee that I will find a relationship or get married?

No reputable matchmaker can guarantee chemistry, a relationship, or marriage.

What we can guarantee is that we will take your search seriously, actively look for appropriate matches, communicate with you throughout the process, and give you thoughtful and honest guidance.

Ultimately, matchmaking involves human beings. We can create opportunities for connection, but we cannot manufacture chemistry or control another person's feelings.

What happens if I'm not finding success?

We evaluate why.

Sometimes we need more time to source someone with very specific criteria. Other times, the dating process reveals that certain expectations or preferences are limiting someone's ability to connect.

One of the benefits of working with a matchmaker is having someone who will be honest with you about that.

My job isn't to simply agree with everything you tell me you want. My job is to help you find a relationship. Sometimes that means encouraging you to look beyond a checklist, reconsider a pattern, or become more open to someone who may not look exactly like the person you imagined, but could be an incredible partner.

Will you tell me if my expectations are unrealistic?

Yes.

I believe honesty is one of the most valuable things a matchmaker can provide.

If your criteria make your search extremely difficult, or if I believe you're overlooking people who could actually make you happy, I will tell you. That doesn't mean you have to change your standards. It means you'll have an informed understanding of how those standards affect your dating pool.

I would rather have an honest conversation with you than promise something I don't believe I can deliver.

Is matchmaking confidential?

Yes. Discretion is extremely important to our clients and to the people in our network.

We do not publicly disclose who we work with, and we expect the same level of confidentiality and respect from our clients regarding the people we introduce them to.

Do you provide dating coaching as well?

Yes. Coaching and feedback are naturally incorporated into the matchmaking process.

Finding the right person is only one part of dating successfully. How you communicate, choose partners, handle uncertainty, build intimacy, and show up on dates all matter.

When I see something that may be getting in your way, I'll tell you and help you work through it.

Who is NOT a good fit for your matchmaking service?

Matchmaking works best when you're genuinely looking for a partner, not simply access to attractive singles.

You may not be a good fit if you're unwilling to receive feedback, have an extremely rigid checklist with no flexibility, consistently dismiss people over superficial details, or expect a matchmaker to guarantee chemistry.

I take on clients when I believe there is a realistic path to success and that we can work together as a team.

How much does matchmaking cost?

Matchmaking is a highly personalized service, and pricing depends on the scope and complexity of the search.

During your consultation, we'll discuss what you're looking for and determine which level of service makes the most sense for you.

How do I know if matchmaking is right for me?

Matchmaking may be right for you if you're serious about finding a long-term partner, tired of dating without direction, don't have the time or desire to rely solely on apps, and value having an expert help you navigate the process.

You don't need to be "bad at dating" to hire a matchmaker. Many of my clients are incredibly successful in other areas of their lives. They simply recognize that finding the right partner is important enough to approach intentionally.

How do I get started?

The first step is to apply for a consultation.

We'll talk about where you are in your dating life, what you're looking for, what hasn't been working, and whether my matchmaking process is the right fit for you.

If I believe I can help you, we'll discuss the best way to move forward.
